How did I get into this?

I'm often asked how I got into acupuncture--what first comes to me is a catalyst moment I had in wanting to help my Mom after she'd had a back surgery. I was staying with her to be available at any hour, because she was so immobilized and in so much pain.

But while I had a significant amount of healthcare experience, it was mostly as an EMT, and emergency medicine meant for an ambulance was simply of no use at all in this situation, where what was needed was pain relief, aiding with digestion post-surgery, and relieving the stress and fear that gets stored in the body after an experience like that. I couldn't help my mother.

In that crystallized moment of frustrated realization, I remembered I'd had great experiences with acupuncture for my EMT injuries, and knew I had to set my profession and my life on a different path. I wanted to be able to help my Mom and others in ways more than just keeping them alive in an ambulance and never seeing them again--I wanted to help their lives get better, and keep helping their lives better as I got to know them over time, and acupuncture and Traditional East Asian Medicine were the ideal way to do that. I was able to help my Mom a great deal with those skills, and I'll always be grateful for that.

I'd love to get to know you and help you feel better and enjoy life more--call or text 520-609-8488, or schedule online at the link above.
